Yeah, the individual problem with Sony is that everything near that brand is expensive.



Keep in mind that this laptop simply has 2 USB ports, so if you want more dimensions, get a port replicator(of course, that one you can attain from ebay at a cheap price), or a USB hub



However, beign a Sony VAIO owner myself, I can say that I would buy again and again from them.
Sony's are not doomed to failure laptops. But keep contained by mind that you are paying a premium for nothing more than the Sony logo to be precise stamped on the lid.



You can get similar talent laptops from Toshiba, IBM, HP, Compaq etc.
