is PC2700 push compatible beside ddr400?

i am going to buy a unmarked motherboard and need to know because i enjoy a 1gb pc2700 ram stick

Answer:

PC2700 is 333mhz memory.slower memory modules WILL work within faster sockets. But newer memory modules wont work in elder sockets.

Yes PC2700 will work on a PC3200 (ddr400mhz) motherboard.
PC2700 I believe is DDR266. If you want to run your computer at a lower memory speed, that is fine, as long as the RAM have the same pinout. I believe that DDR have 184 pins.

I recommend getting the fastest RAM that you can afford for your motherboard though, because it will give you a boost contained by speed. I was running PC2100 within my PC2700 board for years, and when I went from 1GB of 2100 to 1GB of 2700, it be noticable in plentifully of applications, without shifting anything else.
PC2700 runs at 333 MHz and DDR runs at 400MHz. You might be able to use the 2700 on a MB, but you can't use 2700 and 400 at like time.
