Is my Core 2 Duo 2.16 as angelic (or better) than a Pentium 4 2.66?

I lately got a Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 (2.16GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB), I thought it be a good processor, but I checked requirements for a hobby I was gonna buy and it required Pentium 4 2.66 GHz. Now I know that now-a-days highly developed GHz speed doesn't mean its quickly, so will my new computer be capable of paly a game that requires a 2.66 GHZ P4 even tho I get Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz?

Answer:

Core 2 Duo (C2D) use 65nm production process. C2D has more transistor than P4. C2D let off less grill on operation because C2D use lower voltage than P4. C2D support 64bit. C2D front side bus is 1066 or while P4 is only 800 or 533 MHz. C2D have two physical cores while P4 has simply single physical core with hyperthreading. C2D have more bigger cache memory than P4.

Clock aren't everything this day on computing process. Intel and AMD concentrate on lower clock but abundant cores. It proove that cores can help on faster computing than clock.
twice as suitable
its better. same performance but uses smaller quantity power and produces less bake
First Core 2 Duo is capble of going 64 bit, unlike ur P4. Second, Core 2 has 2 cores at 2.16 ghz.

Third, I am sure the Core 2 Duo have much more Cache than ur P4.

aLL IN ALL, The Core 2 Duo should be 60% faster.
yes, a core duo it like have 2 CPU's smashed into one. Now since you said that it a REQUIREMENT then it may not work it dosent really bring in any since saying that the duo is alot better than the four also my pentium four have 1.99GHz so try it
