Overstock.com periodically have good laptops for underneath $500, but they're usually a few years old. Not a horribly good utility as for around $800, you can usually find a new one at Circuit City/Best Buy and similar stores.
not brand unusual maybe the morning after thanksgiving you can get near with clad specs. but if you buy a gently used one from ebay from a repected peddler that would be your best bet.

Maybe 550 or so without export tax at Walmart. Check it out. Brand new. Not used rubbish. Nice machines. Don't buy used laptops if you can avoid it. I was amazed at perfect old Walmart. Get some unused Easter candy half price while you're in attendance. There is a link below for one at $498.
