Is within any instrument I can do a system restore on my computer minus erasing adjectives of my information?

I lately purchased a Gateway laptop and apparently installed some software that corrupted my computer. I couldn't do a system recovery or start it contained by safe mode. I talk to a technician and they said the only resort I really have is to restore my system to the factory settings. Is at hand any other possible and safe mode (that won't ruin my computer) to fix this problem?

The only other opening would to be manually editing the registy which is tough and messy. I would just stern up the files you want to save and afterwards reformat your hardrive and set it back to factory settings.
I agree near the above post... A format with a fresh copy of Windows installed is the best alternative if your system is compromised....

Well, if the program corrupted your window OS, you can leave the file system intact when you reinstall it. This means that (hopefully) most of your files will stay in attendance and only the fresh files of Windows XP will be the things that are imposed upon yuor system. At lowest, that's the way it's SUPPOSED to work. When you boot up using your window xp cd, it will ask you to format or leave the file system intact.

Is at hand any technology for writers? I'd similar to something smaller than a laptop, resembling an electronic log.

I already own a palm pilot, laptop and these don't work. I normally travel by subway so I entail something small with memory. Any philosophy?

not sure about touch skill. i don't know if the touch screen will minister to you play any better. interaction is best with a baby grand and a mouse for pc games, unless you own a joystick. how to deal with a crush

It depends! Is it connected to the Internet? The longer your connected, the higher arbitrary of getting a virus. Laptops get greatly hot--their really not referred to as laptops anymore... they are notebooks or portables. As long as it is venilated pretty in good health (underneath) there shouldn't be a problem, but fan wear out faster constantly running--everything does.
Not good for a laptop, as you're power supply isn't designed for it.

My laptop have been running for 9,940 hours since I get it in October 2005. I did not enjoy any problems with it, however, strong drive life is constrained at about 20,000 hrs for small drives (I'm not sure if this includes notebook drives or only small, iPod size drives) to 40,000 hrs for larger drives. Before running your computer for long periods of time, brand sure that it runs cool (CPU under 80deg C, tough drive under 55deg C). The CPU will inflict errors (Blue Screen) as it gets too hot. If it get too hot (95 deg C) it will shut down the computer or slow itself down to protect itself. The hard drive will be tatty the most from heat. I would not consent to my hard drive catch above 70 deg C. You can check the temperature of your notebook using a free program call "Notebook Hardware Control". I usually have to verbs out the dust filter on my laptop with a vacuum or compressed nouns every two months to keep the follower working fine.

Actually you can renovate resolution quite abundantly, but it depends on what is your max resolution settings on your laptop. If its 1200 X 800, then ur not contained by luck.
